CONSTRUCTION:
Heavy duty mouldings of GRP. Toughened glass windows set in aluminium frames. Heavy D section rubber gunwale fendering. Internal joinery of solid mahogany.
ENGINE:
Hino WO4C-TI diesel engine marinised by Thorneycroft – 4 cylinder rated at 210hp. Indirect fresh water cooling. Current hours run recorded is 1800hrs. Shaft drive. Spade rudder. 2 x 75 gallon stainless steel fuel tanks.
ELECTRICS:
2 Alternators charging 12volt batteries. 1 dedicated 12volt battery for starting, 2 x 12volt batteries for all other requirements. 240v shore power system.
ACCOMMODATION
Mahogany internal joinery work and fit-out to a high standard. Well furnished with cushion covers, curtains and carpeting throughout. An Eberspacher unit heats the cabins. Fresh water pressurised system for hot and cold. Hot water is via a calorifier and an electric immersion heater. 2 x 40gal fresh water tanks give ample capacity. Lighting is 12 volt and the boat is wired for 240 volt with numerous socket outlets. The heads is plumbed to an onboard waste holding tank.
Fore cabin
Double berth cabin with lots of natural light from 4 portlights and overhead deck hatch. Storage under berth and lockers to starboard including hanging locker.
Heads/Shower
Separate compartment fittedwith an RM69 seatoilet, a hand basin with h&c shower faucet, and a shower tray with pump out.
Wheelhouse
The saloon/wheelhouse at deck level affords good visibility all round through toughened glass windows set in aluminium frames. Sliding doors to port and starboard provide easy exit and access to side decks. The inner helm position is to port and there are a matching pair of helm and co-pilot seats beautifully engineered on stainless steel swivel mounts. To the aft of the wheelhouse is a rear settee bench seat and there is also seat fob for the side step boxes to provide further seating as required. Access to the engine bay is by removal of the floor panels. Steps lead down to the aft cabin.
Aft Cabin/Galley
An L-shaped settee is to starboard with a beautifully inlaid saloon table, this will lower to make into a double berth. The galley is laid out to the port side and is extensively equipped. There is a 4 burner gas hob with extractor hood over hob, Prima built-in gas oven with separate grill, Engel upright electric fridge with ice-box, 2 x stainless steel sinks with h&c mixer tap, and also fitted is a Nature Pure drinking water purifier, tiled worktop and lots of storage cupboards and useful shelves, 4 x portlights (2 of which open) and an overhead deck hatch.
Upper Helm
The upper helm position (with fabric protective cover) has repeated controls and instruments. The helm seat has a flip back so can be used to face either direction, within seat are housed 2 off 3.9kg propane gas cylinders. In other compartment is a spanner to suit cylinder connection. The stainless steel overhead radar gantry and the screen have both been engineered so that they can be easily folded down to reduce air draft and in addition the helm position has a sunken foot well in which to stand. There is a stainless steel arch to support the canvas Bimini cover (which has a sock to retain folded Bimini )
Deck
Aft deck area is protected by stainless steel rails with fabric wind dodgers. Good side deck access leading forward. Heavy-duty deck fittings throughout. Manual anchor windlass. Stainless steel pulpit rails. Fender baskets. Heavy D-section rubbing strake to gunwales. Stainless steel stern mast with red ensign + cover. Pennant mast fitted on top of coach roof.

REMARKS:
These Aqua-Stars are heavy-duty boats of long-standing good pedigree and known for their excellent sea keeping qualities. Apart from offshore coastal cruising “Aqua-Libra” is also ideally suited for inland cruising as allowances in her fit out has provided the ability to keep her air draft to a minimum – her radar gantry and screen both lower and the upper helm is provided with a sunken foot well in which to stand. The sliding wheelhouse doors to both sides provide quick and easy access, ideal for negotiating locks. As at Oct 2011, 1830 engine hours have been recorded. The current BSC expiry date is March 2013. “Aqua-Libra” has been antifouled and had new anodes fitted. Also she has had an engine service with oil change and replacement new oil filter. The cooling system has been flushed through and coolant replaced with a 50:50 antifreeze mix. The fuel system has been cleaned and new replacement filters fitted.
